Plays, musicals, theatre troupes: what do they all have in common? You audition to get into them. Auditions are stressful enough. You are showcasing the best version of yourself in a 2 minute song and a one-page monologue, but there are tools that can help make the process less stressful. Let’s unpack good and bad audition practices to make you shine like the star you are!
Join Meg James and William Akins as they explore and break down the complex world of the audition process. Ms. Meg will work with you on how to break down sides (the parts of the script you read for auditions) and how to truly comprehend the material you are reading. Mr. Will shows you how to pick appropriate song choices and how to act through your songs and not just sing them.
This course will be 6 weeks of working and polishing a few selections that you will be able to use for any upcoming auditions. Meg and Will are excited to bring this class to Spotlight to help you sharpen those audition skills!
Grades 5-8:
